Anyone can look like a model this fall and it is not all about the clothes. It is however all about the accessories and we are talking about purses here. What are the must-have bags for this fall? A couple of these trends are as follows and fit your everyday budget. While it is hard to keep track of everything that is ready-to-wear from the fall fashion runways, this year’s highlights range from Fendi’s furry monster bag to the “Real Gucci” and there is truly something for everyone.
The overall theme for fall/winter fashion is big. In addition, the seventies saddle bags were in full force by Coach, Prada and Gucci. Victoria Beckham made a statement with her large bags and her fall runway models carried them at the hip. Balenciaga show cased laundry-style over the shoulder bags, while designers like Gucci really adopted a functional approach, while embracing the “super-size” me concept at the same time with occasional accents of authentic graffiti.
Some of the major fashion purse designers took a more intricate role such as Alexander Wang. On the fall runways, Alexander Wang displayed a new brand of bags with loosely tied handles; as did Marc Jacobs, Loewe, Nina Ricci and Ralph Lauren. Tommy Hilfiger took the graphic design route and highlighted handbags mirroring their model’s wardrobe. There were some smaller bags that also made an appearance this fall and Gucci presented small clutch purses with gold chains.
Circle shoulder bags were also all the rage by top designers such as Paco Rabanne and a favorite was Dolce & Gabanna’s leopard shoulder bag complete with a gold chain. Alexander McQueen introduced a leather clutch, which is versatile enough to wear with any outfit. For the daring fashionistas out there, several designers also showcased snakeskin prints – among these were the Bristol Snake Print Mini Crossbody, Givenchy Snake Satchel and the Fendi Python Crossbody. Also on the smaller side were the smartphone wristlet purses. Saint Laurent introduced a pretty fringe calfskin wristlet purse. Also making an appearance was the Vince Camuto Cami Bag and the Coach Edge Studs Lolita Wristlet – all of the previously mentioned are for sale on Amazon too.
Another big purse statement of fall fashion week is that purses can have accessories too and this would be that purses that have fringe is in! Tommy Hilfiger showcased a Tassel Leather Satchel, Tory Burch introduced a Fringe Tote, while the MILLLY Essex Fringe Handle Bag was another trendy hit. Finally yet importantly, there were a couple of designers who introduced the fall mini bag trend. The Salvatore Ferragamo Mara Mini Satchel was a huge it and it is sure to compliment any outfit. Diane von Furstenberg introduced a fashion forward pink Secret Agent Mini; while the Chloe Micro Paige Satchel also turned heads. All of the fall fashion bags that made an appearance this year will be sure to compliment any wardrobe.
