A Rhinoplasty, widely known as a nose job, is a surgery that many of us would have thought in the past was only for models and celebrities. Nowadays, it seems that going under the knife to help improve your nose is a very common procedure.
The first cosmetic rhinoplasty was performed in 1886. However, it might seem like a recent trend since cosmetic surgery has become quite popular.
You must have been living under a rock if you haven’t heard about the nightmare stories of nose jobs going wrong. Micheal Jackson’s nose job story is almost legendary nowadays. But in recent years, due to science and professionalism, it’s rare that you hear of things going wrong.
If you are considering going under the knife, make sure you find a trusted cosmetic surgeon. Your surgeon should have the correct training and a list of satisfied clients.
Here is a list of supermodels who have gone under the knife to improve the way their nose looks like.
Priyanka Chopra
This incredibly beautiful Indian model, who although is now 38 years old, still appears to look in her twenties. When she was 18 years old, Chopra was crowned Miss World. Since then she has modeled all around the world and she has also acted in many Bollywood movies, including Mary Kom in 2014, and is a well-known celebrity in India.
Priyanka and other famous Indian faces such as Preity Zinta and Kareen Kapoor have all admitted to having received plastic surgery which shows it is becoming much more popular in the country.
Unfortunately, not everyone in India agrees with plastic surgery. S Throughout her career, she has been followed by paparazzi and has experienced plenty of abuse. Her fans did not agree with her choice of getting a nose job or getting work done to lighten her skin.
Cameron Diaz
It seems Cameron Diaz has been lighting up the silver screen forever. The award-winning actress has been in many blockbuster Hollywood movies such as There’s Something About Mary and Charlies Angles. Not many people know this, but Diaz started her incredible career as a 16-year-old model rubbing shoulders with models such as Naomi Campbell.
Although Diaz is well into her 40’s now, her beautiful looks still remain for the world to see. She claimed her nose job was to help her breathe better, rather than to enhance her looks. For whatever reason it was for, it seems to have worked well!
Cindy Crawford
From being granted a scholarship for chemical engineering at Northwestern University, to becoming one of the world’s most famous supermodels, Cindy Crawford is a household name. During the ‘80s and ’90s, Crawford seemed to be on the front of every fashion magazine, on runways from New York, Milian, and Paris, and also involved heavily in fashion campaigns. Now in her mid-fifties and mother of two, Crawford has kept herself busy. She is involved with politics, television, fashion, and business investments. Her two children even went on to have careers in modeling.
The former American supermodel admits to having 11 years of cosmetic surgery. She still looks incredible today, even at the age of 54.
Tyra Banks
Banks started her modeling career at 15 years old while she was still at school in LA. Banks had been rejected on numerous occasions until she finally signed with L.A. models. The following year she switched agencies. Banks hustled to get herself on runways in Paris, Italy, Germany, and Malaysia. Her photoshoots appeared in some of the world’s biggest fashion magazines. She was involved in advertising campaigns for some of the world’s major brands including Nike, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dolce & Gabbana. Banks also signed a lucrative contract with cosmetic giants CoverGirl. When she landed the spot on the front cover of GQ magazine, she changed modeling history. Banks became the first African-American female to be on the front cover of GQ, however she is not the last.
Banks claims she had no interest in going under the knife to improve her nose, however, she said she constantly felt it was itchy and felt that it was growing sideways. Her makeup artist advised her to speak to a specialist and have some work done at the early stages of her career.
Banks believes that women who are naturally beautiful have won the genetics lottery and that nobody should judge another person on whether or not they have had cosmetic surgery.
It’s not just models who get nose jobs. Actors, athletes, celebrities, tv show hosts, and the average person are all queuing up to have some work done on their noses. Here is a list of some of the reasons why cosmetic rhinoplasty surgery is so popular:
