Meet Melissa Corsari, a fashion illustrator based in Milan (Italy) and the mind behind the beautiful illustrations you see here.
Melissa has enjoyed drawing since childhood and started developing her skills by copying manga (Japanese comic books). At the age of 15, Melissa studied at art school, continuing to practice and improve. Eventually, she decided to combine her talents with another passion of her’s: fashion.
Melissa is a true aesthete, with an attraction to beauty in every form… from a gorgeous man or woman, or breathtaking landscape, to a stunning pair of shoes. As Oscar Wilde said: “Beauty is a form of Genius – is higher, indeed, than Genius, as it needs no explanation. It is one of the great facts of the world, like sunlight, or springtime, or the reflection in the dark waters of that silver shell we call the moon. It cannot be questioned. It has divine right of sovereignty.”
Melissa’s work largely consists of creating illustrations for company logos, websites, social networks and promotional purposes. She uses watercolor and ink on paper, taking inspiration from runways, magazines and television.
“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul” — Audrey Hepburn.
