Interview with Misha Shazada, by Kristopher Fraser

How long have you been a make-up artist?

12 years.

How did you get into the industry?

I started consulting for brands, doing freelancing for companies like Nars, Sisley, Lorac, Hourglass…

What’s been your favorite fashion show to date?

Louis Vuitton.

Who is your favorite model to work with?

Milla Jovovich.

What has been your biggest career highlight? Was there a moment where you really saw your career changing?

I can’t pick just one, I’ve always loved beauty. My mom was really into parties and glamour, so I was exposed to that whole world at a really young age.

Is there any show you wish you could go back and do over?

Well, with fashion shows, the make-up is decided before we even get there, so we don’t have a lot of autonomy or say there, but there have been shoots where I wished I pushed myself harder. As creative people we do tend to play it safe, and not try and push the envelope too much, but I’ve looked back at shows and said, “I should’ve gone further there.”
