Gigi Hadid is an American fashion model who was a quick fire success. Having only been signed in 2013, she has already been named one of the world’s top 50 models and 2016 International Fashion Model of The Year by the British Fashion Council.
Born in Los Angeles, this biracial beauty has a mix of both Dutch and Palestinian heritage. Although she was always gifted, being a competitive horseback rider and good student, she did not begin seriously pursuing her modeling career until her early adulthood. Working with Baby Guess and GUESS in her teen years was about the sum of it all. After high school ,however, she soon moved to New York City and studied a while at The New School for college. Yet, once her modeling life had expounded, she decided to put school on hold.
After signing to IMG Models in 2013, she made her New York Fashion Week debut in February 2014 . In the same month she was on the cover of CR Fashion Book magazine! In 2014, she featured in Tom Ford’s Eyewear campaign. She also co-hosted the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards event and starred in campaigns for Tom Ford F/W 2014, Tom Ford Velvet Orchard Fragrance and Tom Ford Beauty 2014.
In 2015, she was featured in the Pirelli calendar, named the Daily Front Row’s Model of the Year, and a Maybelline brand ambassador. Hadid became the first ever model to cover the CR Fashion Book twice. By Spring, she had walked for designers including: Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Max Mara. This is not including her Winter Debut for Victoria’s Secret!
Some of the major magazine covers and features that Hadid has appeared on includeincluding Vogue United States, Paris, Italy, Britain, Japan, Spain, Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, China, Allure, W Magazine and Teen Vogue as well as WSJ Magazine, Elle Canada, Dazed and Harper’s Bazaar USA, Malaysia VMAN, Elle, Grazia, Cleo, Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Paper magazine, Vanity Fair and V Magazine. Hadid has also starred in campaigns for Guess, Versace, Penshoppe, Balmain F/W 2015, Topshop, Max Mara, and Stuart Weitzman.
In 2016, she worked with a hefty list of brands, some of which being Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Chanel, Balmain, Fenty x Puma and DVF! It’s no wonder that she has an estimated net worth of over $5 million. Gladly, she uses her fame and wealth to great use by also volunteering for charitable causes such as being the face for Reebok’s #PerfectNever campaign. Hats off to her!
