MY TAKE:
Being asked to be a part of the Surf Ball seemed like Kismet. Only one degree of separation brought me here after flying from LA to NY seated next to Dean Leibo. Noticing a sticker on his phone that said All My Friends Are Models, I was instantly geeking when I asked if he knew Sasha and Ollie and the convo ensued.
5 hours later we landed on a delayed flight to JFK at 1 am. With no trains or buses to the Hamptons, I would have given Dean a ride to Montauk but I had a 7 am call time…I gave him my Lyft discount code and we said our goodbyes.
Getting the call a few days later to be the makeup artist for the Surf Ball was a check off the bucket list and a confirmation to always be friendly and say hi to the person next to you on a flight! All of the models arrived gorgeously fresh and sun kissed so I decided to accentuate that strobe by keeping the skin dewy and flawless. Sticking with a palette of neutrals, bronze and golden tones, they each received a Montauk glow specific for their individual features.
As a one woman show by myself, I was in love with the results and 8 models later, they headed to the balcony to celebrate a full glam sesh and a personal shoot with the king of what’s up Mr. Ben Watts...what an honor and privilege to be a part of such an amazing event.
The Surf Ball was indeed the best weekend ever! Hoping for many more. Xx
